Lindsey Burrow talks about her new book ‘Take Care’ on BBC Breakfast News

On Wednesday, 26th February, Lindsey Burrow appeared on BBC Breakfast to discuss her new book, Take Care: A Memoir of Love, Family & Never Giving Up.

Lindsey gave a heartfelt insight into the often unseen challenges of being a carer – balancing love, responsibilities and resilience. She highlighted the staggering contribution of unpaid carers in the UK, who provide an estimated £184 billion worth of care each year – equivalent to funding a second NHS. Yet, despite their vital role, carers often go unrecognised.

She defined caring simply: ‘If you’ve ever put your life on hold, even for a moment, to care for someone else—you are a carer.

As a mother, physiotherapist, and wife, Lyndsey knows first-hand the realities of caregiving. Through her book, she hopes to offer reassurance, comfort and understanding to others on similar journeys.

Lindsey’s advice to other carers: ‘Make time for yourself—whether that’s a coffee break, meeting friends, or simply reaching out for support.’

📖 Take Care: A Memoir of Love, Family & Never Giving Up is available to buy or listen to on Audible from Thursday, 26th February.
